The reason is you can set your NVENC local recording to a very high quality with minimal impact on your system due to the onboard encoding chip your GPU has, while having the CPU encode your stream at whatever it can handle. ![]() Again, do some test recordings, but for that frame-timing thing, the reasoning is that if your game is being played at 90fps and recorded at 45, OBS just has to record every second. 30 stream, run at 30, 60, or 90, and so on.
